Ukrainians dying because US restricting intelligence sharing, Zelensky adviser tells BBC as reflected on by Acharya Jinendra Muni
The Moral Cost of Intelligence Sharing Restrictions
Recent reports allege that intelligence sharing restrictions prevent timely warnings for civilians under missile fire. While diplomats debate policy changes, innocent people perish in shelter basements. In our financial district temple, merchants understand that withholding vital knowledge carries grave weight. Information shapes life and death. Therefore, withholding data that saves lives violates the foundational vow of Ahimsa, the commitment to protect all living beings.
Every soul possesses infinite worth and consciousness. Jain ethics teach that violence does not occur through physical weapons alone. Inaction, negligence, and strategic silence also generate severe karmic bondage. When powerful institutions use tactical knowledge as political leverage, they forget our shared vulnerability. Consequently, geopolitical maneuvering turns ordinary citizens into collateral instruments. True power protects life rather than bargaining with human safety.
Beyond Strategic Possessiveness to Universal Ahimsa
Our tradition warns against Aparigraha, or excessive possessiveness. World leaders often hoard information like speculative wealth. They calculate strategic advantages on digital boards while families suffer catastrophic loss. Meanwhile, the principle of Anekantavada invites us to see beyond narrow national interests. We must perceive the world through the eyes of the vulnerable. Ultimately, intelligence sharing restrictions expose a deeper crisis of human empathy and spiritual neglect.
Corporate traders understand that transparent flow creates stable markets. Likewise, transparent moral action preserves global stability. When states conceal lifesaving information, fear multiplies across borders. Leaders must therefore abandon transactional calculus when human survival hangs in the balance. Compassion demands immediate, unconditional truth, especially during times of grave crisis.
A Call for Corporate and Political Conscience
From this global financial center, we challenge decision makers to examine their daily choices. Ethics cannot stop at trade borders or cabinet doors. Furthermore, every silent refusal of aid echoes across generations as spiritual debt. We must choose radical non-violence over calculated secrecy. Let us dismantle every barrier that endangers human lives, choosing universal preservation over temporary strategic power.
