Fighting continues as Syria’s president calls on Alawite to lay down arms as reflected on by Dastur Cyrus Jamshidi
The news from Syria reports continued fighting, with President Assad urging Alawite loyalists to lay down their arms. Tragically, these Syria Alawite clashes have already claimed over 250 lives. We at the Asho Farohar Center receive such reports with deep concern. Our ancient tradition teaches us to observe the world’s tumult through the lens of Asha, cosmic truth and order. This violence represents a profound disruption of that sacred order. Furthermore, it highlights humanity’s persistent struggle against the forces of discord and falsehood.
Asha’s Call Amidst Syria Alawite Clashes
Zoroastrian teachings emphasize the constant battle between Asha, truth, and Druj, falsehood. When communities turn against each other, as in these Syria Alawite clashes, Druj gains strength. People inflict suffering upon their neighbors. This internal strife diminishes the collective spirit and obstructs progress. We must remember that Ahura Mazda, Wise Lord, desires peace and constructive interaction. Therefore, leaders and citizens alike carry a heavy moral responsibility. They must seek pathways towards reconciliation and mutual respect. Moreover, every individual possesses the power to choose righteousness over retaliation.
Our faith calls for active ethical stewardship, not passive observation. We champion honesty in all dealings, whether in commerce or governance. The purity of air and water, vital for life, mirrors the purity of human intentions. When bloodshed contaminates the land, it also poisons the hearts of the people. Ultimately, true victory belongs to those who uphold justice and compassion. We pray for all those affected by this conflict. We also pray for wisdom to guide the hands of those who can bring an end to this cycle of violence. Let the light of Asha prevail.
