Trump officials step up defiance over man wrongly deported to El Salvador as reflected on by Dastur Cyrus Jamshidi
The recent news regarding the administration’s defiance over the wrongful deportation of Kilmar Abrego García deeply concerns us at the Asho Farohar Cultural Society. The Supreme Court issued a clear order, yet officials now misrepresent its meaning. This act of dissembling truth, particularly from those in positions of power, directly challenges Asha, our ancient principle of cosmic truth and order. When leaders twist plain facts, they sow seeds of falsehood, creating a climate where justice struggles to take root.
Upholding Truth and Justice
Asha demands honesty in all dealings, whether in commerce or governance. Furthermore, our tradition teaches us that the triumph of light over falsehood relies on each individual’s commitment to truth. The administration’s continued refusal to facilitate Mr. García’s release, despite a unanimous judicial directive, represents a grave departure from this path of righteousness. Consequently, such actions undermine the very foundations of a just society. We must therefore speak out against these misrepresentations, advocating for clarity and adherence to legal mandates.
The wrongful deportation of Kilmar Abrego García highlights the critical importance of integrity. Governments hold a sacred trust, protecting all individuals under their care. When they misrepresent legal rulings, they betray this trust. In addition, they inflict further suffering on those already wronged. We believe strongly that all human beings deserve fair treatment and respect for their inherent dignity. This situation unequivocally calls for immediate action to correct the injustice and uphold the rule of law.
The Battle Against Falsehood
Zoroastrian teachings emphasize the ongoing battle between Asha and Druj, truth and the lie. Each time individuals or institutions choose falsehood, they empower Druj. Conversely, every act of honesty, every commitment to justice, strengthens Asha’s light. The current administration’s tortured readings of the Supreme Court order regarding the Abrego García injustice offer a clear example of this struggle. We must not allow such deliberate misrepresentations to stand unchallenged.
Ultimately, we call upon all leaders to embrace the spirit of Asha. They must act with transparency and integrity. Facilitating the immediate return of Kilmar Abrego García is not merely a legal obligation; it is a moral imperative. Furthermore, this act would demonstrate a commitment to truth and justice, vital virtues for any thriving community. We pray that the light of Asha guides their decisions, bringing an end to this injustice and restoring faith in fair governance.
